Client confidentiality is paramount and must be maintained by you.

You can store client notes off platform as long as they are held securely in accordance with legislation, best practice, requirements of your professional body and in line with our contract with you.

You are also asked to have an up-to-date risk assessment and management plan in place for each client which addresses risk to self, client and others.

If you will be seeing the client in person you should ensure you have considered all the potential risks around lone-working and mitigated these. You can get more information on good practice from your professional body (e.g. BACP) and from other organisations such as the Suzy Lamplugh trust who also have directories of available devices, apps and alarms that can help to ensure your safety.

Clients must be allowed access to their records if they request it, according to the Freedom of Information Act.

If you ever have any concerns that security of client information has been breached, we ask you to get in touch with us immediately.
