No. Here in the UK counsellors, psychotherapists, and psychologists are not able to prescribe medication.

Only psychiatrists can prescribe medication, as they have trained as medical doctors, specialising in mental health disorders.

If, however, your therapist feels you could benefit from medication, our sister company, harleytherapy.co.uk has several specialist psychiatrists available in London and online, or your therapist may also be able to refer you to a psychiatrist.

Your GP should also be able to refer you for an assessment via the NHS, or your GP might be able to prescribe some types of medications to help with issues such as anxiety or depression.
