What types of therapy are most popular?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is currently the most popular therapy in the UK, and is proven by research to help with issues like depression and anxiety.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is gaining in popularity and is particularly suited to those who struggle to maintain relationships or are very emotional. 

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is another type of therapy growing in popularity and is recommended in NICE guidelines for PTSD. 

We would just note that a therapy’s popularity does not always correlate with its effectiveness compared to other forms of therapy, nor will it always affect which type of therapy will suit you best as an individual.
