We explore many of the different types of therapy and what might be a good fit for you in our article here, however, if you are finding it difficult to decide which type of therapy to try, then you may want to meet with an integrative therapist. This means the therapist is trained in different approaches and can create a blended approach more suited to your individual needs, issues and personality.
Another option is to try a short-term therapy first. Once you have a better idea of how therapy works you might be more comfortable committing to another, longer-term form of therapy at a later date.
Remember that therapy is always your choice. If you choose to try a form of therapy that in the end isn’t quite right for you, you are not obligated to continue, and you are always free to try something else. We would recommend in that scenario having an honest chat with your therapist, who may be able to recommend alternative types of therapy that could be a better fit for you and your needs.
If you realise early on in your therapy journey that a different therapist or type of therapy would be a better fit, you can also access our guarantee where we will cover the cost of an initial session with a different therapist for you.
